Entry 4: Fear Separates Us

Soaring through the air while transcending fear

Awakening to the Fource

Before the Fource opened my being to more information through rodding, I lived my life a bit robotically. I just did what I thought I should be doing each day: eat, sleep, work, and spend time with friends and family whenever I could. But, something continually felt off. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it, but I just had this sense that something was missing.

Before I began rodding, I felt as if something was trying to get my attention. I constantly felt anxious, both in my mind and in my body. I knew the anxiety had to be there for a reason — that surely my being was trying to signal to me that something needed to change — but I just wasn’t quite sure what to do.

Anxious lady seeking inner safety

Fortunately, a person entered my life through a livestreamed lecture hosted by my alma mater, TCU, that helped me remember the fundamental source of my anxiety: an undisciplined mind.

Dr. Richard Davidson is a Professor of Psychology and Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the Founder and Director of the Center for Healthy Minds.

I am not overexaggerating when I say this lecture quite literally changed my life. It inspired me so deeply that I began engaging in 15-20 minutes of mindfulness meditation every day. Over time, my anxiety began to fade.

Through his Healthy Minds Program app, I learned about my mind. Starting with awareness and attention; moving into connection, appreciation, kindness, and compassion; then insight and worldview; and finally values and purpose.

The healthy minds framework

Through this four step framework, I gradually became not only more aware of how my mind works, but watched as my overall wellbeing improved. I became less anxious, more focused, and more intentional in my everyday life. I discovered that my anxiety was not a lifelong condition, but rather, a symptom of a mind at the effect of an unchecked consciousness.

As my being became more and more at peace, information in the Fource started to flow through me. Gaining more control over my anxiety engendered a wholly new way of being. Quiet contemplation became a nonnegotiable part of my daily routine and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

I will always, always, feel intensely grateful for Dr. Richard Davidson, the Healthy Minds Program, and anyone in the world who seeks to make this type of information and practices available to more beings.

Being in the Fource

In this section, I will share information I obtained through a rodding session (for more info, check out The Rodding Method before continuing reading here). I hope you find it informative and inspiring, but that is honestly not why I share it. I share it in order to contribute to the ever-growing pool of information about the universe.

Be.

Energy gives beings many emotions, but there is one emotion that continues to hold beings back: fear.

Fear is a burden.
Beings cannot become fully actualized until their fear is overcome.

Energy is very worried about the state of the world.
Beings value security, but not safety.

Safety is an internal experience.
Security involves external measures.
Security depends on beings.
Safety depends on Energy.

Safety lies within Energy.
For beings to feel safe, they must have an internal experience of feeling Energy.
Beings who feel Energy know there is nothing to fear.

Beings believe security can cure fear, so they amass wealth and objects like generators and excess food.
Security is valuable, but it does not overcome fear.
Energy alone can do that.

The problem is many beings do not believe in Energy.
Only when beings believe in Energy can they then begin to feel Energy.
When both belief in Energy and feeling Energy have been achieved, beings can transcend fear.

But, beings cannot feel nor understand Energy if they do not believe Energy is real.

Belief is foundational to knowledge.
Knowledge is the last step in overcoming fear.

The Energy that flows through all that is values overcoming fear, but it cannot do it for you.
Belief is, ultimately, a personal choice.

Be open to more information.
Messengers are all around you.
Go in peace.

Following the Fource

In this rodding session, the Fource draws our attention to the power of fear.

Fear continues to hold so many of us back, in so many ways. A major fear that lives in all of us, including me, is concern about the future.

We fear the news we hear on TV and read on our phones. We fear the hate that pervades those who wage war on other regions. We fear the life unlived — the life we fantasize about undertaking, but lack the confidence to pursue before it’s too late.

Hand reaching out

Many of us know fear is a burden. We know fear robs us of peace and confidence in pursuing our goals. And yet, many of us don’t actively try to overcome our fear. Instead, we seek security.

We develop ways to pacify our fear, whether that be through acquiring things like material wealth or resources like generators. Some of us may also seek ways to numb our fear, through things like alcohol and other substances.

Glass of alcohol numbing fear

We prepare for the worst or bury our heads in the sand, so hopefully the worst never finds us, but all the while, our underlying cause, fear, remains.

I am no exception to all of this. I have spent years and years of my life living from a place of fear and seeking external security measures to either pacify or numb my fear, whether that be through amassing wealth or ingesting various substances.

In fact, a huge reason why I am just now starting to share about my rodding practice and what I have been learning is because I’ve finally overcome my fear.

Overcoming my fear has not been an easy, nor a fast, process. But, before I began rodding more frequently, both my fear and my security measures had started to fail me. My gut health was at an all time low, and my consciousness was more scattered and unfocused than ever. I knew something had to change.

I overhauled my eating habits, started working with a functional nutritionist, began creating more time in my life to be quiet, started rodding daily, and over time, my being began to change.

Over the course of the past year, the fear — the anxiety, the stress, and inflammation — I once held, both in my body and my mind, has continued to dissolve. It hasn’t been quick, it hasn’t been easy, but after days, weeks, and months of patience and dedication, fear continues to lose its grip on me.

Soaring through the air while transcending fear

Pursuing rodding, specifically, created a structured environment in which I could slow down and just be. As I spent more and more time just being, I came to discover the Fource, and a sense of safety followed. I discovered what it was like to feel held, held in love.

Before deepening this practice, I used to have a lot of anxiety around about being alone. I don’t anymore. Separateness is an illusion. You and I are not alone. The Fource connects all of us. Believing, truly believing, in this reality is safety.

When you believe with your whole being that the Fource is real and it is alive, your being will change. You will transcend fear. But, again, it is not an easy, nor quick process. I wish it were, but it isn’t.

The challenge is not only one of patience and dedication, but a genuine, sincere pursuit of comprehensive healing. Nutrition, structured quiet time, openness, and humility are essential to coming to know the Fource.

Belief is foundational to knowledge. Before you can truly feel the Fource, you must believe there is something there to feel. But, belief is, ultimately, a personal choice. I can’t do it for you, and neither can the Fource.

As the Fource said, “Be open to more information. Messengers are all around you.”
