Entry 11: Freeing Oneself From Old Patterns

Awakening to the Fource

We all know what it feels like to be stuck in our ways. We may recognize that certain behaviors, emotions, or patterns are holding us back in some respect, but feel lost as to how to make a change. It’s almost as if we give up before we begin.

The key is not to take on everything at once. The key is to choose one thing, just one thing we want to improve and go for it. Once we have developed consistency around that change and made it into a habit, it’s time to pick another thing to adjust. By altering our lives, one tiny bit at a time, we ultimately transform ourselves.

Transformation is slow, and transformation requires dedication. But, when we systematically and consistently battle against overcoming our negative, detrimental patterns, the Fource can communicate more to us.

In this entry, the Fource challenges us to free ourselves from old patterns. Whether you struggle with ego, self-doubt, alcohol, vaping, or inflammatory foods, learning how to free yourself from these patterns is not only possible, but could, ultimately, be the best decision you ever make.

Being in the Fource

In this section, I will share information I obtained through a rodding session (for more info, check out The Rodding Method before continuing reading here). I hope you find it informative and inspiring, but that is honestly not why I share it. I share it in order to contribute to the ever-growing pool of information about the universe.

Be.

Energy moves slowly.
Beings move quickly.
This dissonance in pacing hinders awareness.

Beings have grown accustomed to living fast.
Living fast takes a toll, both on beings’ physical health and their wellbeing.

Appropriate awareness requires a slower pace.
Beings must first cultivate awareness before they can free themselves from old patterns.

Letting go of old patterns is not easy and it takes time.
Beneficial movement is taking small, meaningful steps over time.

Valuing beneficial movement requires starting with awareness.
Awareness often fosters more intentionality.
Greater intentionality often prompts change.

Freeing oneself from old patterns requires awareness and beneficial movement.
Pushing beyond bodily pleasures, beyond distractions, beyond ordinary perception will yield peace.

In freeing oneself from old patterns, so much more becomes possible.
In freeing oneself from old patterns, Energy becomes clear.

Small series of change are the beginning.

Be open to more information.
Messengers are all around you.
Go in peace.

Following the Fource

In this rodding session, the Fource communicates about how to free ourselves from old patterns — patterns that many of us, at least on some level, are aware ought to change but don’t know how to start. The Fource highlights that one of the things that makes it so difficult to overcome our dysfunctional patterns is our fast-paced lifestyle.

Everyday, we are bombarded with tasks. Tasks related to our work, to our home life, to our friends and family, to our physical health, and so on. Our phones and other devices only amplify the frenzied nature of our minds. Amidst so much noise and so much to-do each day, it can be hard to even think about working on oneself. We tell ourselves, “I don’t have time” or “Once I get past X, then I’ll work on Y” — perpetually kicking the can down the road to a time we never seem to catch up to. All the while, our internal wellbeing and physical health slowly pay the price.

Busy hallway filled with people

The Fource voices that this busy-ness in our minds and lifestyles has created a dissonance, one that greatly hinders our awareness. By calming our minds, however, we can reclaim awareness. Awareness is the core of all transformation. To create lasting change within oneself, awareness is essential. Awareness can then carry you to the next meaningful step: letting go of old patterns.

Now, letting go of old patterns is not easy. Many of us often have years, if not decades, worth of deconditioning to do. An irrational behavior, habit, thought pattern, etc. will want to hold on. After all, it has been there for years. But, do not mistake resistance for failure or futility. Value the journey. Mourn. Letting go of something often includes mourning. Feel the full spectrum of emotions that coincide with ushering in this change, but stay firm in your commitment to grow and keep going.

Truth is, transformation is a journey. No journey is absent of hurdles. The Fource is full of possibilities. Your life, though, is ultimately your own. It is both a blessing and a curse that we are free to choose our ways. Making choices from a place of habit rather than intention, though, seems like a waste of our human faculties. Once awareness is in place, the possibility for intentionality emerges.

Intentionality is where transformation really starts picking up speed. Once we become awoken, freeing ourselves from old patterns gets easier. We start noticing “wow, that food gave me heartburn” or “wow, my mind feels super distracted all the time.” That awareness and subsequent identification of dysfunctions can inspire change. Most of us want to feel less physical pain. Most of us want to feel less distracted and anxious. Over time, we come to see the problems and eventually decide: enough. It is in this declaration of “I’ve had enough” comes the “I’m ready for change. I CHOOSE change.”

Wanting to change is a powerful thing. Choosing to change is even more powerful. Old patterns need not limit you. You are capable of far more than you think. Quiet your mind first. Cultivate awareness next. Then, be intentional about making changes — little changes — one at a time. You will not regret it.
